Starting a career in digital media and marketing after the dot-com crash of the late 90’s was really hard…

I spent days, weeks even,  of my early career first learning digital marketing, to then demonstrate and communicate the benefits of investing in digital marketing channels.

Through this process, I gained a great deal of practise unpacking, de-‘geeking’, & communicating digital marketing strategies so I could get my point across. Some client’s went so far to say I even made this process funny and engaging.

After several positions agency side across three continents, I ventured out on my own to be an early digital consultant around 2008. 

Through this consulting journey to find clients, I started teaching digital marketing for a national marketing association.  

One participants posed this question to me after a 13 week course, “You are really good at this, why don’t you do this full time?”. I ignored this advice for at least 2 years… and finally then, I followed his advice, and digitalbrief was born.
